HKKR is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Jennifer (center). Jennifer’s love of cats began at a young age. She worked with many different rescues and missions over the course of her life. This assisted her with the decision to build her own rescue. She knew there was a great need for a cat rescue in the Elkhart Indiana area. Thus, Here Kitty Kitty Rescue was born. HKKR is a cage-free facility that allows kitties to live their best life prior to adoption, regardless of how long it takes. Over the years Jennifer realized that the rescue could be a sanctuary for “non-adoptable” kitties as well. HKKR gives the kitties with medical or behavioral issues a forever home. They can live out their lives without the fear of being thrown out or abandoned. In April of 2021. Kelsey (right) joined the rescue. Kelsey has always loved helping animals and rescued for the first time when she was only 16. She has always known helping animals was her life calling. Kelsey spends her days at the rescue cleaning and helping the kitties lead happy lives. If any kitties need round-the-clock care, Kelsey brings them home to look after. Her house is known as the “hospital” for the rescue. She also fosters during kitten season. Brittany (left) began fostering for the rescue in 2020. Now, Brittany comes to the rescue to volunteer after she gets off from her full-time job. She is known as the gardener and maintenance woman. Brittany helps with various cleaning tasks at the rescue as well.
